Halloween Treats!

Helllllloooooo Internet world!!
Is it just me or is everyone starting to get EXTREMELY excited for Halloween??
It's super close now! My house is decorated, my costume has been bought and I'm ready for some serious trick-or-treatin and pumpkin carving!!

This year we are hosting a Halloween party which I am really looking forward to! Any excuse to scare my friends and I'm there. My boyfriend and I are close to completing our deception shopping and our Halloween entertainment has been booked. My next project is to decide on some spooky snacks for the night.

Food is such a massive part of any party of function you attend, as it keeps your guests full and happy but all gives you a chance to show off your creativity as well. I 100% believe if you are going to go with a theme for a party, then you need to go all out and this includes the kind of food you choose. Now we aren't providing dinner for people, but instead we are choosing to go with snacks that everyone can munch away on during the night. In order to enhance the Halloweeny-ness of the party, I  have decided on a few themed food options which are simple, yet help to celebrate the spookiest night of the year.

Spooky Halloween Snacks

Halloween Bark

This Halloween snack gives you the excuse to mix all your favourite into one amazing Super Snack!! The idea with Halloween bark is that you choose a variety of Candy (e.g Candy Corn, Oreos, Sprinkles etc), place them in a non-stick pan and pour melted chocolate over them. Now this can be any flavour of chocolate that you desire (e.g milk, white, dark etc). You will need enough chocolate so that all the candy is covered. Using a spoon, flatten out the mixture so that the chocolate is evenly placed and that all the candy is nicely glued.
Now place the pan in the fridge for an hour or two until the chocolate has hardened. Once the bark is ready to go it's time to starting breaking it up as it should look like one giant rectangle (or shape your pan is...). You can break the bark as small or big as you would like and place the pieces in some serving dishes for your guests. Now this treat is extremely addictive so I recommend hiding a stash for yourself! You'll thank me for that later!!

Pumpkin Vomit

Not the most appealing name in the world I'll admit that, but when you brake it down it's basically just guacamole coming out of a pumpkins mouth. Not so disgusting now is it? This snack will involve you pumpkin carving skills and you can choose to carve your pumpkins face in any way you see fit. Next is the guacamole. I am a MASSIVE guacamole fan, I could eat it every day. So I am quite he judge when it coming to the many variations you get out there. I do have to say my boyfriend does a mean guaca! So here's a sneaky peek at his recipe:
Paddys Guacamole
- 2 x Avocados
- 1 tablespoon of sour cream
-1 tablespoon of Japanese Mayonnaise
-A nice squeeze of lime
-Sweet Chili sauce (This is a each to their own ingredient. Add as much as you desire)
Now mix and mash it all in a bowl and you're ready to go!

This can be served with you favourite corn chips or crackers or even some carrot sticks!

I just think this is the best idea!! Now if they were REAL injections I wouldn't be so keen, but this is an awesome idea. There are so many options for you to fill you syringes with. For the kiddies you could fill it with cranberry juice or even raspberry lemonade. For the adults here is a quick and easy cocktail you could use:
Blood Orange Cocktail
-Pinch of salt
-Crushed ice
-1/c Cup Fresh  Blood Orange Juice
-2 Ounces of Tequila
-1 Ounce Triple Sec or Cointreau
Now put this in a blender and blend blend blend until its nice and smooth then suck them into your syringes!!

Now these are just some of the food ideas I had in mind, but I am always open to your suggestions! So feel free to leave me a comment with any Halloween food ideas that you might have!
