Yummy Granola Recipe

Hi Everyone,

I am one of those people who NEED to start my day with breakfast otherwise it is very very dangerous. I suffer from serious "Hangry-itis". Translation: I become VERY angry when I don't eat food after a certain period of time. I'm not talking abit grumpy or snappy, I mean like if this were a movie there would be flashing red lights, sirens and an announcement of "EVACUATE, EVACUATE". That's how bad. So I truly believe that the best way to preserve human life is for to me to start my day with a good, healthy and filling breakfast.

My favourite thing to do is make my own granola. I have never been a massive cereal person, and I find museli can be alittle bland and dry. So I think granola is a perfect medium because it's crunchy, yet oaty but full of all the yummy stuff. I have tried a few different Granola in the past, most are jam packed full of sugar or just no that amazing. So I wanted to create my own so I could fill it with all the things I love to eat, be certain that the sugar level is very low and know that my breakfast was actually providing me with good nutrients to kick start my day.


Yummy Granola Recipe
Ingredients:
Rolled Oats
Dessicated Coconut
Sunflower seeds
Pumpkin seeds
Chia Seeds
LSA mix (Linseed, Sunflower seed and Almond meal all ground up)
Almonds (it's easier if you buy the pre-chopped ones as almond are painful to try and cut up)
Organic Honey

There is no real measurement of each ingredient that you need to go by. I just throw in all the ingredients, adding as much of each to fit my taste (I do ALOT of coconut). The seeds and chopped almonds are great for adding abit of crunch where the LSA mix and Chia seeds are both jam packed with nutrients, fibre and other goodies to make make your body feel great.

Once all the dry ingredients are mixed in a bowl I add the honey and try and mix it all into a big honey blob. I then place it into a pre-heated over (about 180c C) on a baking tray and cook for about 15 minutes. You can tell when it's ready because it goes a nice golden colour and starts to smell amazing. Once it's finished, let it cool and pop it in a container so it stays nice and fresh.

Obviously you can add or subtract ingredients to your own taste. There are loads of different options out there but these just happen to be my favourite!
